Affordability
Chances are you can’t afford not to take control of your appetite and your weight. Find out what your excess weight is costing you and why insurance is not the answer.
The iVital Lap-Band® Pays for Itself
Based upon clinical research, your iVital Lap-Band will pay for itself in as little as 12-18 months. For example, according to one study, overweight people spend an average of more than $15,000 annually for excess food, medications, and other related expenses. In addition, the opportunity cost of time lost living a shorter life or living on the sidelines of life can be counted by the number of days lost with family and friends, a diminished quality of life, and missed opportunities incurred due to discrimination.
iVital offers a variety of patient financing programs designed to meet your specific needs. With strategic partners like GE CareCredit and CapitalOne Health, iVital has access to the most competitive financing programs available. Contact an iVital Advisor to learn more about the financing solution that works best for you. iVital believes everyone should be able to afford lifetime weight loss and better health.
Insurance Doesn’t Pay
Despite the proven weight loss results and dramatic health benefits of the Lap-Band®, insurance company “guidelines” for coverage of the Lap-Band® mean less than 10% of the 198 million Americans who are overweight are even eligible for insurance coverage.
Of those who are considered “eligible” by these guidelines, many are still subject to insurance providers who do not cover the procedure or only offer it in a few of their plans.
Even if you clear these hurdles to insurance coverage, somewhere between “What Is Covered” or “Covered Expenses” and “What Is Not Covered” or “When the Plan Does Not Pay Benefits”, you’ll find that many insurance providers will delay the process with a series of roadblocks including partial coverage and paperwork like “Letter of Medical Necessity” and documented weight loss history prior to any discussion of authorization. Others will demand an additional 6-12 months of doctor-supervised diet and exercise even though almost all of us have obviously tried and failed to the lose the weight with diet and exercise.
