What is it:
Blood pressure is a measure of how hard the blood pushes against the walls of your arteries as it moves through your body. It’s normal for blood pressure to go up and down throughout the day, but if it stays up, you have high blood pressure. Another name for high blood pressure is hypertension. High blood pressure is a blood pressure reading of 140/90 mmHg or higher.

Consequences:
Hypertension is a leading cause of kidney failure. Being overweight and inactive dramatically increases the risk of Hypertension. Hypertension is called the silent killer because it usually has no symptoms. Some people may not find out they have it until they have trouble with their heart, brain, or kidneys.
